Gents, I was talking to Schipper about making these the other night. It is a project that he is open to. Would there be any interest?
Cheers Chris

I would be interested. currently the only source that I know of, of reproduction Hypo/PH helmets is in the UK, and some arent terribly authentic. So to have a good source here in the states I would be very open to.

Just to add a little to what Mike has mentioned. The number of manufacturers of either Hypo or PH hoods are nearer to six, but unfortunatelly for you chaps over here in the USA, they are in various locations around GB.
There is only one that I know of who produces an accurate period example = Dickie Knight : Khaki on Campaign.
I personally am not all that impressed with Shipperfabrics WW1 British items, except for their late war version of the British Army Greatcoat. Its one the best I've seen to date, and the price is reasonable.
If Shipperfabric could produce an accurate Hypo or PH hood.... for the right price..., I'm certain that they will have a ready market. I would certainly purchase one.

Seph, I agree with you 100% on Dickie Knights stuff. I got a trench cap and PH Helmet from him back in the mid 1990s.
I think this is going to be a good project for Schipper and it will be cheaper than going to the UK....no offense Seph. ;>) Ha!

I agree 100% with you in reference to British postal costs Chris..... I'm utterly hacked off with it. Since the government made the Postoffice into a private concern, the system went down hill fast. As an example, I purchased an SRD Rum Jar for 25.00.GBP from a friend last year, and he sent it out to me via surface mail. It cost me 65.00.GBP in postage. So yes, I know what you mean...... no offence taken. Seph

Seph It sounds like you got a nice find there. The postal costs have always been a HUGE problem for as long as I have been reenacting. The exchange rate is tough on us too. Before all the extra airline baggage costs, it was almost cheaper to fly over to the UK to do some serious shopping. ;>)
