Hey,
Just bought a British WWI Tunic and Torusers from the History Bunker in the UK. Really great stuff and custom made! Has anyone ever purchased from them like I have?

Hello Will, Looking at the trousers which History Bunker include with the OR's uniform ... they appear to be of OR's Cavalry / ASC Driver / RA - RHA - RFA - RGA / RE Driver / RAOC Driver / RAMC Driver pattern = x3 button bottoms ( basically horse use oriantated), therefore incorrect for an OR's Infantry impression. The correct pattern ( if your portraying Infantry) is straight cut to the trouser with a plain bottom. As an aid to illustration, I've scanned my files and included a few period pics for you as verification... As you can see by the looseness of this chaps trouser bottoms, you have purchased a set of Cavalry pattern. ...also, this medics trousers show no signs of being close cut... ...and these chaps, taking advantage whilst in a quiet area to carry out their morning ablutions... ...then finaly, these chaps caught up as casualties of a Hun gas attack! See the pattern of Infantry SD Trousers available through What Price Glory, as theirs is correct. I hope this has helped. Seph

well here is the problem, I am bigger than what Price glory is making them. The History bunker is the only one to offer this at a good price! I am not running around a muddy trench in a 500 dollar jacket that is not even lined? Find me a custom made jacket at a good price. I am not sending my money to Sanjay he has way to much bad feedback!
but I ask History Bunker to make my uniform of the Infantry pattern.

I am not running around a muddy trench in a 500 dollar jacket that is not even lined? Wow.. you certainly do seem to have a little bit of a problem on your hands! However.. all is not lost, so please do not throw in the towel yet. A point of interest... British SD Jackets of the time... were not lined as in what we know the term to mean in this day-n-age! But arn't the trousers the problem... Cavalry -Vs- Infantry? Can I enquire what your main impression is please? Have we gained cross lines somwhere? Assuming it's the trousers which are incorrect, and your portraying a basic infantryman... ...Have you heard of Dickie Knight of Khaki on Campaign? Hes based in England, and his products are spot on. He makes replicas of his collection items for Museums and so forth. Below, you'll find his web-site.... www.milweb.net/dealers/trader/khakioncampaign/I would suggest that you first contact History Bunker, and explain to them the position you are in, and enquire if they will produce you a pair of the correct pattern trousers ( at no extra cost to yourself). Or, if they will refund your payment in exchange for the goods supplied. At the same time as the above, contact Dickie Knight. I guarentee that your order will be correct to pattern required. I'm sorry to hear that you have come up against this simple mix-up, but this sort of situation does happen from time to time, and in the majority of cases is easily resolved. If I can be of any assistance, just ask. Please let me know how you get on! Good Luck! Seph

Seph,
I talked with the History Bunker today. My order was not made like the one picture they advertise. My was made of the Infantry style. I looked at the pictures he shows and my are completely different!

OK Will....
It pleasing to note that you actually have received the correct item. However.. rather confusing if one is trying to estimate what the ordered item will look like. I wonder how many customers they have lost by not illustrating the item they describe?
Out of interest, could you tell me what regiment or battalion from that regiment your portraying?
I may be able to assist you in sourcing the correct Regimental Capbadge [for the rank you have chosen], and the Brass Shoulder Titles, Cloth Brigade and Divisional Shoulder Flashes.
Several regiments of the British Army have 'rank specific' cap badges, and its imperative to know the actual Battalion to source the other various titles and flashes mentioned.
My ow Regiment, The Lancashire Fusiliers raised and fielded '33' Batalions during The Great War.... so I think you can see the complexity of the issue!
Also, ALL British Army Units / Battalions fall into one of the following Battalion types:- Reserve, Service, Volunteer, Territorial, Regular..... thus each type had a differing role within the whole organisation.. with differing Cap Badges, Shoulder Titles, Brigade and Divisional Flashes.
