Guys, I just checked Schippers website and they have the british 1907 pattern Great coat on sale now. Seeing as this is a hard to come buy piece of kit, it really helps us Commonwealth chaps. Now they don't have a picture up yet, so I don't know what they look like.

Mike,
I'm already aware of the Scipperfabrik item, and being honest, if its anything like their Trench Cap.. its going to be a disaster!
I've been informed by one of my chaps of an alternate vendor [details witheld for the present until confirmation of ordering requirements] who has a Greatcoat on their the inventory. I've viewed several photographs of this item, and can catagorically inform you that this is the best reproduction of a Pre to Early war example that I have seen. We are in the process at this moment in time of communications with the vendor in order to gather as much information that we can.
As soon as I am satisfied that everything is correct and in place, plus quality and value for the selling price, I'll post the resulting information.
All I can say for the moment, is this item is period correct, and the best yet.

Thanks Seph,
When I did post that I remembered what you said about their trench cap. I would be very interested in the source you have for great coats, as there is just something about a jerkin that I don't think will do the job.

I believe Pegasus (in the UK) produce greatcoats as do Suttler's Store (also UK) - I haven't checked the quality.

Tom... forget the 'Sutler Store' item... unless your portraying an Officer with a Wasp Waist!
The Pegasus example is never seen, as they list it on their site, but thats all they do... list it with no pics!
The vendor we are in touch with is located in England, so I'll post all the relevant details in this thread once we have finalised. I'm saticfied that their example is near spot on for an early to mid war impression..... its just the ordering, postage, and niggly details left to catch up on.

Thanks Marcus.
Well.. 1st impressions look good... very late war = 1918 and post.
The shoulder epilates are a couple of inches short, so room for improvement in that area.
Certainly a great improvement on their trench-cap.
We are still awaiting the final details from the UK vendor of the early war Greatcoat, but will post here when we have had time to assimilate everything.
