Need some information about Schipperfabrik. I've never actually ordered anything from them and a question about their uniforms. Are the uniforms something they keep in stock or are all of them made to order? I see different statements about it on the website. Now...depending on how some financial issue work out in the coming months, I MIGHT be able to do WW1 again. I had to sell my Army pattern uniform, but still have my USMC uniform though. I would have replace several parts of gear as well. So can anyone fill me in on Schipper?

Here's the deal-
With some uniform items, they tend to have a few in stock- depends on when you call them. For the most part, it appears that they bulk up orders and then get them from their supplier at one time. I don't have any hard data to back this up but that's been my experience in ordering uniforms from them.
Most of the time, the field gear is in stock unless the website says they're out of stock.
I tend to give a long lead time- most of the time it's taken about 3 or 4 months to get uniform items from them.

I received my AH uniform from Schipper in 8 weeks, but I believe they're running longer these days (I've had a great coat on order for 12 weeks now, not sure when it's going to ship). Most uniform items are made to order. I bought a lot of stuff from Schipper over the past year, and all-in-all they've been very helpful.

UPDATE...I just received a notice that my great coat is shipping today!

Give them as much lead time as possible. If you have the money now, they'll probably take it. Otherwise, they wait until it ships to charge you. Their uniforms are very good, but the breeches might run a bit large in the calf.
Their gear is very good, especially the SBR carrier. The canvas is so perfect. The strap could use some work.

Some common gear items that I ordered were received in as little as four days. For my custom order tunics... one took 7 weeks and another close to twenty. But still, no complaints overall. I had once ordered a product from them that was defective and I was able to exchange it, no problem.

Ahoy!
I can say this, quality is excellent. I must have lucked up as it only took 6 weeks to get a Doughboy ensemble. I am sure that items like Greatcoats, Tunics, and breeches are custom made. Shirts, belts, leggings etc and web gear are usually as mentioned in stock unless otherwise noted.
So if you are looking at needing a uniform for say anywhere past April 15th, I would be ordering now if not sooner.
