Herr Weller... being a rebuilder of vintage vehicles, I am all for helping restore a "goulasch kanone" for use by Central Powers units... perhaps we can cook my wife's reenactor famous "sirloin steak goulasch'!

Those guys who have the second field kitchen photo, the 2nd panzer, they are around here where I'm from. I have been to a couple of events where they have had it out and going. It was nice, you could smell the cooking all over the event grounds.

I remember when 2nd Panzer (formerly 110th Pz Gren Rgt) got that Kanon so it has been providing meals to reenactors for close to 15 years now. I too live in the Chicago area and have had a couple meals from it. I may even have a couple photos of it before the repaint.

I don't know if this is any use, but it's the only photo of a WWI German travelling kitchen that I have. Any help? Tom

That shows some good detail. I wonder if the "Siggi" is some sort of nickname for the unit, or some other sort of designation?

Sean did this progress at all?
I believe Chris Ramirez is the guy who has the Field Kitchen. From what I understand it has never been restored.

I am the field cook for the 3. Panzergrenadierdivision WW2 reenactment group and go quite a bit of reasearch on field kitchens and period recepies. I came across this thread looking for original pictures. I find many of them on German ebay.de looking for "Feldküche". Lately it seems more of them are WW1 than WW2. The picture of "Siggi" (I think that is the nick name of either the cook or the kitchen itself) interests me quite a bit. I contacted the poster directly but I also want to reopen this thread. At first glance I thought that to be a post war east German FK 100/57, the same type I am using for our WW2 reenactments. However the picture you posted has clearly wooden wheels, while many features differ from the types used by the Germans in WW1 and WW2 (Hf 11 and Hf 13) . It could be Soviet, but there are too many German features on it. So my question to you is: What is the source of this picture and does anyone have any more information about it? Thank you Peter Speiser Feldkoch 9./Rgt 8 (mot) reenacted PS: See some of my creations here: www.3pgd.com/3pgdwebsite_015.htm

There is a group in OK that belongs to the MidWest Great War Living History Association that is reenacting a Fontanak Gedenkstätte Feldküche and cook our meals for us at events. They have some excellent knowledge on WWI Allied and CP Field Kitchens. The head chef is a long lost cousin of mine BTW, I can put you in contact with him and his partners, I am sure they will answer any question you may have, just PM me for details. Patrick Here is some pictures of them at our March 2011 event in KS
