Which is the right color feldgrau or steingrau wool for the uniforms?
Where both issued by the end of the war?

The Hechtgrau ("pike grey") uniforms were issued from 1908 to 1915; the Feldgrau became standard in August of 1915, but the transition took most of 1916. By 1917, all combat units had been issued Feldgrau uniforms. Any remaining stocks of Hechtgrau (and even the older Dunkelbau) uniforms were issued to units operating well behind the lines (POW camp guards, etc.).
