Thanks for sharing vital information regarding British secret weapons procurement. I'm sure all interested parties are very interested. The Germans are probably willing to buy them all up-- for safe keeping. Wolfgang "Dachs" Zimmermann

Love one - if it wasn't a section 5 firearms offence to own one in the UK!

Cool deal! Let me know what he is asking for one, if he is willing to sell. I am assuming these are legal in the state of California? I figured that I might as well snatch up Brit stuff so it gives us Huns a better chance. Keep us posted please

Don't worry about it. The Royal Marines have more than a few of those beasties!!!! And we know how to use them. Actually, a tennis ball is a perfect projectile. And it can be launched well over 100 yards, if set up right. I've had lots of practice shooting at our local WW2 Germans, much to thier discomfort.

For anyone still looking for the cup dischargers, Springfield Sporters still lists them for $100 each or 5 for $400 (http://www.ssporters.com/parts/ENFIELD1.htm) They also have chargers and bandoleers listed under the No4 Enfield page (http://www.ssporters.com/parts/ENFIELD4.htm). I bought mine from them a few years ago, I also got some of the bandoleers at the same time, all had original fill dates in the 1920's, most refilled until as late as mid-1945.

Yes, Springfield Sporters is good. Santa brought a grenade cup discharger for me this christmas as well, but mine came from Sarco Inc. While talking on the phone the guy was talking like he had more than the one. He actually didn't even know what they were. But Sarco might have some, but they want $150 for them.

The important thing to remember about the cup dischargers is how easy they are to use. The very first time I EVER fired mine was at a WW2 event, I bounced that tennis ball right off the hood of the German halftrack I was aiming at, it hit about 3 feet to the right of where I was aiming at almost 100 yards, in a pondorosa pine thicket.
Last time I fired it was also at a WW2 event, a quick snap snot put the grenade down 5-10 feet directly in front of a German light mortar crew, which they proceeded to ignore ( another german who was behind them later told me he saw the loader look at the tennis ball when it landed, then he went right back to firing on the Americans who were about 100 yards in front of them).
Now the RMLI just needs to find a good way to get the balls a nice solid black without bulking them up enough to raise the launching pressure, or removing enough fuzz to make the fit too loose to get decent range. BTW, don't bother trying racquetballs, they are really ripped up by the launch, and you are lucky to get 2/3 they range a tennis ball gets.

In regard to the tennis ball rounds, has anyone considered dying them? Perhaps an experiment with Rite Dye- commonly available in most fabric stores and even some grocery stores. It's kind of a crap shoot using Rite- sometimes it comes out right and sometimes not. I'd try using black and see if it's sufficient to overcome the dayglow green color.
If that doesn't do the job, there are more powerful dyes out there- I can get some sources on them if people are interested.

I wonder how a coating of "Plasti-Dip" would come out??

Plasti-dip would increase the diameter too much.
I have been trying to find the pack of black Rit die I know we have somewhere in the house, guess I just need to go out and buy a new pack, along with a bottle of good black ink.
I do know that a good place for dyes is Dharma Trading (http://www.dharmatrading.com/ ).
