I've been looking into the 8mm Mauser blanks offered by Atlantic Wall, in the hopes of stocking up on supplies for the coming November offensives. Seeing as they offer the two separate varieties, I'd like to ask those who've purchased from them: are the Surplus rounds a viable option, or would it be safer to reach deeper into my pockets and use the standard rounds?

The question is whether or not the surplus blanks will feed reliably in your rifle, and the only way to find out is to try a bag. I wouldn't rely on the surplus blanks without trying them ahead of time. There is little risk buying a bag or two, as they are bound to work in someone's rifle, so you should be able to sell them if they don't work for you.

Just be careful that the surplus are meant for use in bolt-action rifles, as opposed to machineguns. The ones for MGs are way too powerful. Atlantic Wall is good about warning people but just be sure to check first.
