Sorry if this has been posted before, but need a fix:
Need advice: I purchased an original 1916 dated G98 - "Butcher Bayonet" today. But the blade is loose in the scabbard. Is there some kind of "tension spring" or something in the throat of the bayonet scabbard to keep it tight? Any help is appreciated.

I removed the throat & spring and severely bent it then forced it back in.. Works fine now, in the German way, "Gutentight" WALT
