Gents,
We are registered for the Long Beach Veterans' Day Parade on Saturday, November 10th. The parade starts at 10:00 am, but try to get there earlier to form up, organize, etc.
I do not have the details from the organizers yet as to entry number, division, etc., but will post as soon as I receive them.
Again, all nations are welcome - we are there to remind people why Veterans' Day is on November 11th.
More info to follow.
Best, Chris Michaelis

I'm in for it, and can do early or late war German, early war Austro-Hungarian, late war French or American, Mexican campaign or France 1918. My lady would also like to march in civilian clothes.

Okay, so far we have:
Robert Maxwell - US Sandra Maxwell - US Salvation Army Alvaro Lopez - US - Pre-war (Mexico) Chris Laguna - German - Early-war Adam Matthews - Austro-Hungarian - Late-war Lisa Matthews - German - Late-war James Minnich - ? Wolfgang - ? Wolfgang's Lady - Civilian Chris Michaelis - ?
Pipe up if I missed you. Between myself, James and Wolfgang we can fill in any gaps (French?).

More info on the parade:
Assembly area is Houghton Park in Long Beach - corner of Artesia and Myrtle.
Parade starts at 10:00am, get there by 9:00 to allow for assembly, set-up, etc.
I will not know our entry number until I get there and check in. If you cannot find us call me on my cell that morning - 714/865-7031.
I sent out a map, flyer and parking pass to those I knew were attending. If you need a parking pass email me crmichaelis11@gmail.com. Generally passes are not necessary, but it's always better to be safe. Normally when you show them that you're dressed up for the parade there's no issue.
Rifles - I've had several inquires about carrying rifles in the parade. I asked the organizers and got no reply (no news is good news?). I will call them this week to confirm. From what I know - and I'm no expert - there are exemptions from the new law for authorized parades, etc. To be safe - no one carry a pistol!! I will confirm and post here after talking to the organizers.
Any questions call or email me.
Thanks, Chris

Gents,
Just double checked - the event goes on rain or shine tomorrow. As of the latest weather report it should be 65, mostly sunny and 20% chance of rain, so no problem.
I also talked to the organizers about carrying rifles and that is not a problem either. There is a special exemption from the open carry ban for parades, just like car seats, seat belts, etc. Of course we want to be overly careful in this regard. And I would reiterate - do not carry a handgun! No need for them and no need to push!
I will see you tomorrow! Once again, call me at 714/865-7031 cell if you have any last minute questions or can't find us.
Best, Chris
