Since this was asked on the GWHS Facebook page. Posting a photo showing the difference between the P1907 (SMLE) and P1913 (P1914 / P1917 Enfield) bayonts. As noted the "shank" on the P1913 bayonet - that allows it to slip onto the barrel is longer than the P1907. [a href=" "] [/a] So not interchangeable - the P1907 baoynet won't attach to the bayonet lug of the P1914/P1917 Enfield - the P1913 bayonet won't attach to the bayonet lug of the SMLE. It should, however, be noted that the bayonet scabbards are interchangeable. A P1907 will fit the scabbard of the P1913 and vice versa.

The other distinguishing feature, of course, is the two cuts on the hilt to allow the different patterns to be distinguished at a glance or by touch - The versions issued to the 'Home Guard' in WW2 had these notches painted red
