What are some methods of putting together a Sturm pack? How many straps? Etc..

Good afternoon all,
I was at a Civil War event today and found a good source for pack straps. G&M Mercantile (760) 240-7525. I used four of these straps and two breadbag straps. They are about half the price of Hessen Antique's at $10 for a package of two (black) straps. They work perfectly on my pack, and are easily put together to fit around the middle.

Sturm packs- look cool, uncomfortable to wear, and a bear to redo in a hurry. ;>)
