Hi all,we had a great time at Tankfest as one of the three Great War groups that were there. The others were The Gordon Highlanders and The Great War Society The Battle we took part in was very poingnant as it was our role along with the Gordons to go over the bags towards the wire and be mowed down by the Germans in their trench. Then we would get up after being tapped on the shoulder by the next man in turn and "follow the tape". while this was going on Nimrod was playing and a talkover tribute to the Fallen,it was very moving. Then the GWS went in with the tank from the film Warhorse and overran the German positions whilst an ariel Dogfight was going on above. A great weekend was had by all and would just like to say thanks to the Gordon Highlanders,it was good to work with yourselves and have the laugh around the campfire. Regards to all john.
