Are we in the process of being registered for Ft. Mac?
From the event website (online registration is now open).
The Online Registration Page Is Now In Effect.
We have made MAJOR changes in the registration process. First, As Of Now Only The Group Leader Is Allowed To Register His/Her Group On The Site. NO Individual Registration WILL BE Allowed. Individuals wanting to participate in the event MUST report to the group leader or representive to be added to the group participant's numbers. NOTE: PARTICIPANT REGISTRATION FEE WILL BE TEN DOLLARS ($10) PER PERSON STARTING IN 2012! Wristbands Will Again Be Issued As We Did Last Year.

Tony...sorry to hear that...we need to work on getting more Allies to this event. Start planning now for 2014...we need a HUGE showing for the 100th.
Also...if your name was submitted previously, you were paid for by James Minnich. You'll still need to reimburse him since you were most likely already paid for.

I need some details about Ft Mac participation, since I have never ever been:
1) When do/can we show up? 2) Where do we show up to, and when we get there, what are we supposed to do? 3) Do we camp? In period tents, or what? Should I get a hotel? 4) Can we cook?
Any help is appreciated, I am pretty much bewildered.

Clayton, You can show up on Friday if you wish. If you want to show up around 5, you should be good. You should be able to pull in the front gate. You will be able to set up from there. You can talk to the registration people and get your wristband and the like. You can camp. I plan to do that myself. Last time I asked, you were allowed to cook, but let me get back to you on that.
Anything else? Sean

Yes...it's absolutely a camping even should you decide to do so. When you get to the main gate, there is a permanent faux trench just on the inside of the gate to the right. We MAY have both sides of the walkway just inside the gate as in years past. Typically the Allies have gone on the left in grassy area and the CP on the right in the faux trench....some years they smash us all together in the trench area. It seems to change a little every so many years so we'll see what we have when we get there.
You can cook all you want, but I don't believe you can have in ground fires. It's basically a hang out all weekend, talk to the public and try and recruit. Any photo displays you have would be great. That is one thing we tend to lack is good displays of our battlefield (or in the case now...what we are capable of creating).
There is everything from Roman Legions/Celts to Modern Day SF types. It's really a great event with alot of different things to see. There is a Pass In Review that everyone lines up for and they announce each group...we always march more or less as one group and are announced as the GWHS.
Hope this helps.

Thanks fellas, this helps a lot. Although I'm not sure how to cook without a fire. I can bring a coleman single propane burner, but I suspect that would ruin the effect... I don't have much in the way of stuff to display, except perhaps indolence. But I'll aim to be there around 5-ish.

Hopefully we can get both sides of the walkway again like last year. That worked out pretty good. Otherwise, it's a bit of a traffic jam, especially with the vehicles.

Turns out I can't make it due to family obligations. Maybe they could postpone the whole thing for a week, that'd be nice.
