Hey fellas...I am a new guy to Great War and want to know what is the uniform requirement for showing up at the November battle? Will the cotton shirt that Schipper sells work? Also, is the US gas mask & bag required? thx...

Check out ebay and other militaria forums. Original bags can be found for around $20.00. I still have not found an affordable gasmask, orginal or repro, but since the bag only cost me $16.00 I'm happy. Martin

The basic US uniform is: 1912/17 Wool Tunic 1912/17 Wool Breeches Putees Garrison Cap Optional 1912/17 Greatcoat For the most part, the cotton uniform wasn't issued until after the was had ended. Also, as a practical matter, it will be cold out at Ozena in November so wool is preferred material. Finally, you will eventually need to acquire the gas mask. You can wait on it but for reenactment purposes, when gas is used those without gas masks are automatically out of the battle. (until the gas disperses)  |
