Just wanted to know if anyone has bought anything from Replicators? I was thinking of getting a Great Coat from them cause it is $100 cheaper then Schipperfabrik. I know Schipper but not the other. Any help would be great. Thanks.

I've never done business with Replicators, but I've seen on other forums that a few people have had luck with them, but others have been pretty disappointed. Let us know how it goes if you order from them.

Save your money- the grief and aggravation aren't worth the effort. Some have had success ordering from him but the majority of feedback I've heard is not good.

I've heard horror stories of taking your money, you wait a year and then get a piece of crap. You get what you pay for! Dan

Do not get anything from Replicators. I have compared Schipper's and a Replicator overcoat and they are night/day! The weight of the wool, quality, and colour is off. A guy I met at an event, who is new to the hobby, is going to have to replace several items he got from Replicators. He got WWII German gear when he specifically asked for WWI. The red band on his mutze was like...I don't know what...polyester blend...just awful. Now he is going to have to shell out to get the right stuff.
You can only do this on the cheap so far guys. In this hobby, you do end up getting what you paid for nowadays.

What I find really obnoxious is Sanjay's habit of stealing product photos from other people's websites and then claiming them as his own. I guess that's business ethics on Subcontinents... If you want a first-hand horror story, just ask Bob Maxwell about the problems he had ordering a US uniform from Replicators.

Update, Another guy I know ordered an officer quality Yank uniform in wool and just got a cotton tunic instead along with pants 4 inches too big in the waist. Repeated email attempts have not yielded any satisfaction. This guy is bad news!!

Gents... I've been passing the news on about the very bad and extremely well earned reputation of 'Replicators' for nearly three years now. Before anyone else has a bad experiance in reference to this firm... please... get the word out to every reenactor / living historian that you know..... They are 'Rip-off merchants of the 1st order' Don't deal with them.. Please!

And if you think we're over-reacting, there are at least three reenactor chat boards (WWI & WWII) out there with negative comments about Replicators. Cash is hard to come by so there's no sense in throwing it away. If in doubt about a uniform item, PLEASE ask your unit commander or here on the board. We want your reenacting experience to be fun one!
