Heath, I have not seen them in person but did blow these pictures up and looked at them .... they do not have anywhere to put a badge on the front of the helmet, no holes cut for it ... We as infantry will be using 'flaming bomb' badge with the letters "RF" (République Française) in the center. The color of the paint looks way off from what it should have been in 1917-1918 period .... Sometime in 1916, it was decided to change the color of the helmet to a matt dark blue-gray finish, as this helped reduce the helmet's glare in the sun and did away with the fabric covers which, because they got very dirty, tended to infect head wounds. These blue paints varied in shade and luster from factories to factories, some light, some medium and some dark to very dark almost black. The later matte dark blue-gray finish remained in service until the end of the war which for us in this period we should be using. For the price and shipping to the USA, you could for a little bit more money get one from Jacob C of Alexander and Sons German Helmet Restoration which has a badge, correct later dark blue HB paint and a quality liner in it Patrick

Hmm. It looks a little better than the IMA-USA replica, and with a paint job would work for the Italians (as they don't want the holes in them for a badge).
Thanks for pointing it out.
