Often it's the small details that really make or break an impression. Here's some personal items of mine:
Wallet with soldbuch, money, and ID tag. The yellow paper is my delousing certificate. :-) I've also added a clothing tag to the wallet to further identify it.
Wallet, soldbuch and ID tag. Better view of the wallet and cover of soldbuch. The soldbuch was actually a paybook but it gradually expanded to encompass a greater amount of personal information such as immunizations, hospitalizations, issue of personal clothing and equipment, etc. One entry in my book reflects being hospitalized for injuries sustained falling off a horse (the falling off and injuring myself part is true, the hospital stay is fictional).
