O.K, Here I go again asking "wacked" questions. What did the WW1 era rifle target look like and what was it's size?

The musketry book contains information on targets for miniature ranges. Targets included Solano targets and landscape targets. Seems somewhat strange but miniature ranges were scaled for use at 25 yards - the sizes of the Solano targets varied depending on what real distance was being represented. Thus the actual targets - the firing points if you will, representing troops at 400 yards were 4 inches in height; to represent troops at 600 yards - targets were 3 3/4 inches - 800 yards were 2 inches - and for 1,000 yards targets were 1 inch. There were also both Elementary and Instructional targets. Samples - from the Musketry Book - for comparison - on real target the height of the largest triangles on Elementary Target No. 1 - and on Instructional Target No. 1 are both 4 inches. Elementary target No. 2 - representing a person in a lying position is about 2 1/2 inches. [a href=" "] [/a]

Ayup Gentlemen, sorry for not replying sooner than this, but I'm having very frustrating problems with uploading pictures from my files.
Anyway... ...in connection to what John has posted, there is an extensive and very explanatory section on all of the small-arms (musketry) range targets (field) used during the Great War period in the following period publication:- Musketry Regulations, Part-II : 1910 (Reprinted with ammendments - 1914) = Chapter-VI : Targets and Appliances (pages: 53 to 68 inclusive).
John, do you have that part of the Musketry Regulations?
