Does anyone have a source for photos that have a lot of German family portraits from the 1900-1918 time frame? I'm trying to get some good examples of poses, props, backgrounds and civilian attire for wives and children.

Marcus... it may be a little time consuming. But for the type of photo's your requesting... EBAY, I have found, is one of the best sources!

Yes! I did. Thanks. Shots with kids would be best. I'm trying to get my daughter and son squared away with an outifit. I managed to score a New Old Stock suit for the boy, but not really sure on what a 12 y/o girl would have worn in 1910-1918 era.

OK, let me dig some more. My wife will probably have some better references (she makes womens' clothing of this era).

Marcus,
I've seen quite a few German and Austrian family portraits of the period, and it is very common to see the children of both sexes dressed in sailor's jumpers (girls usually with a dark skirt).
Hope that helps,
Larry
