"...Wish I could find a guy like this for German stuff!!..." But then again, if you are portraying German, post March '18, you could always stock up on British kit and claim that it's 'loot' from operation 'Michael' (or slightly later 'Georgette').
Regards
Tom

Looks like the Repro Ratiion guys have added to thier inventory since the last time I looked. A word of warning: the Tommy Cookers are rather unstable. There is a reason they are called Tommy Cookers. Just like some other things, like Sherman tanks.

Reprorations? Must be a new name- these guys have undergone a number of name changes over the years. They started out as "Knackersquaddies" and "Charlotte's Axis Attic". I've ordered from them in the past and they tended to be be a bit slow on shipping (on a couple of boards, I've read complaints about merchandise not shipped).
My issue with them is that some of their packaging and labeling seem to be based on conjecture (some say fantasy) and that seems to be the case with the German and Austro-Hungarian items. Personally, I'd like see some side-by-side comparison with originals or at least some more documentation. They seem to be on more solid ground with the WWII stuff.
Also, many of their labels and packaging just seem to read "modern".
My dos centavos.

What are some other items that are authentic rations? Anything I can get at the grocery store and find labels for? Something easy and doesn't need a whole lot, if any, heating. I don't thinkg we will be taking any breaks off the line given the numbers so quick and easy is the name of the game....if possible.

Try Club Crackers, a tin of beef (make sure that you peel off the modern label, and that it uses a key for opening), and a block of cheese. I've been using this for the last 4 years of Brit. reenacting (WW2 & 1). Summer sausage makes for a nice change, too. Canned bread, if you can find it.

I use corned beef myself. You can still find trapezoidal-shaped cans with the key in some of the off-brands (Hormel now uses a pop-top). I have labels that fit pretty well. I take an exactl knife, cut off the old label (carefully) and replace. You have to carefully remove the key first. I'll be bringing some up so I can show you one. It helps having a color copier at work. I also have some period labels for other stuff and I don't mind supplying some if you want them.

Whatever you have I would appreciate a copy. I used just use corned beef at JRT. Can't seem to find those key-opening cans though. Nothing at Albertsons at least. Have to on the hunt.
