Yes, Italian soldiers were issued brass i.d. lockets similar to those used by Austria-Hungary, the problem with those being that while the locket often survived, the paper insert with all the information is often lost, especially in damp conditions. AH soldiers (especially later in the war) would sometimes scratch or stamp their name into the capsule itself.
