I'm curious, were Italian soldiers issued some sort of identify tag?

I'm curious, were Italian soldiers issued some sort of identify tag? Yes, Italian soldiers were issued brass i.d. lockets similar to those used by Austria-Hungary, the problem with those being that while the locket often survived, the paper insert with all the information is often lost, especially in damp conditions. AH soldiers (especially later in the war) would sometimes scratch or stamp their name into the capsule itself. -Larry

Hopefully, the deceased did the same thing- it would be nice to be able to get some closure. It's been too long.
