94th Aero Squadron Dinner

The Board is exploring the idea of organizing a dinner gathering at the 94th Aero Squadron restaurant at the Van Nuys Airport on August 13, 2011. Uniforms are definitely welcome and so are spouses and we think that this would be a good way to promote group solidarity.

For those who may not know, the 94th Aero Squadron is a WWI-themed retaurant, complete with half-burnt out chateau and the food is excellent. We used to hold these every year but due to declining interest, faded out.

At this point, we're only trying to assess interest and we realize that the date may not work for everyone but we're hoping that this will be the start of something held on a annual basis with the locations switching between San Diego and Van Nuys.

UPDATE: We are on for Sat night still, and open to anyone who wants to show up. I have reserved a 7:30pm table for those who contacted me or said they were in on the forum. If you did not, but still want to go, we will be meeting at 7:00pm in the bar for drinks. When I contacted the restaurant this afternoon, they said they might be able to accomodate a few more, but I had no guarantees. So if you waited till the last moment and still want to show up, by all means please do, and we'll see if we can't accomodate everyone!

Last note, uniforms are not required, but a number of those showing up have said they are wearing theirs so feel free to show up dressed if you want to! See you there.

I personally want to thank everyone who showed up Saturday night. It was fun and I hope this is the start of a regular tradition. :-)
