Where can I find uniform piping? I searched locally and online, but no one seem to have it any more. I need it for to make a Schutztruppe uniform (so kornblumenblau, although white can dye).

Intro moved to the introductions thread.
Have you considered making your own piping? It's not too hard really. If you find a decent wool or cotton in the right color and the correct diameter cording.
You might consider contacting Great War militaria or Prussia's Glory. They MIGHT sell you piping.

I thought about to make it, but problem is, I am not sure about what the right fabric and diametre is for my uniform (the original uniforms are so rare, so I must use photos).

A couple of GWHS re-enactors have been independently working on East African impressions. Contact me at mmovy@yahoo.com and I'll see if they are interested in sharing information with you.

I have finally found someone who sell wool piping, but it is light blue and I need kornblumenblau, which is darker. Would it be possible, to dye it? I have heard wool is hard to dye.

It really depends on the dye being used and how the wool is treated. In my experience, trying to re-dye material to a different color is always a bit of a crapshoot.

I thought WWI German uniform piping was nothing more than a strip of wool folder over, sometimes with a small cord inside, but usually not. I also believe I read somewhere in Johan Somers books that the regulation width of piping was 4mm.
