I just finished reading "To the Last Salute," Georg von Trapp's memoir of his time as submarine commander in the Imperial and Royal Austro-Hungarian Navy. Written in 1935, the English translation (by his granddaughter) was only published last year. So if you've ever wondered what the father of the Von Trapp Singers was up to before "The Sound of Music," it's well worth reading.

Thanks! Now I'm just going to be able to watch "U-Boat" movies without the strains of "Sound of Music" going through my head... ;D I can just hear it now: "The seas are alive with the sound of torpedos..." <rimshot> Actually, I've knew that Von Trapp had been a U-Boat commander during WWI but putting Austria together with naval warfare just seems odd...but then again, how else do you explain Admiral Horthy of Hungary? Interesting stuff!
