Has anyone ever blank adapted a Mauser Pocket Pistol?

Hello Marcus, You may want to contact Weapons Specialists, Ltd. at www.weaponspecialists.com . They offer blank weapons, and I believe they can make conversions for almost any pistol. I'll contact a friend of mine who works with the History Channel to see if he has any leads.

I believe Marcus' question is more along the lines of, will a blank adapted pocket pistol function well? Some pistols just do not work well when blanked. Getting any gun blank adapted is the easy parts (you can do it yourself if you have a tap and die set and know what you are doing - I would however not recommend this). Dan

Personally, unless you know what you're doing and have the right configuration of blank adapter and blank ammunition, it's more trouble than it's worth. We had one individual try to blank adapt a Broomhandle Mauser and managed to blow out the barrel. Fortunately, nobody was in the same trench as he was. Be careful...
For this stuff, revolver is a better choice but that's just me.

I found more info from the guys back east. Apparently there are several within the IR63. The only thing that has to be done to it is tapping the barrel. Unlike the .45's and possibly the C96, no other parts need be messed with. We have a guy in the 21st PZ who knows how to do this.

I just had one of my 'Ruby' pistols (not a collectible one BTW) made into a Blank Firing Only weapon by a friend of mine who tapped and dyed the barrel, then screwed in a plug which he left 3/16th of an inch of the plug on the outside of the barrel and painted in bright RED so that you know right away that this weapon is BFAed not to be confused with a real weapon. This weapon functions fantastic with Fiocchi .32 ACP blanks, I was able to clear a whole magazine full, 9 rounds, with no jams and no issues, it was just like firing a real one. Patrick

Just a note....I found one! After searching on Gunbroker for months...there was one in my local gunshop. I used my C&R and COE and walked out with it on the spot!

Are you going to have it BFA'd or just leave it as is ? Patrick

I actually found and bought a barrel months ago and had a friend adapt it. I meet up with him next month at a WW2 event (he lives up in SF area) and we'll put the components together and dial in the restrictors.

Turns out that the barrel I got from Gunbroker is for a .380 so the blanking process didn't work. If anyone sees a 7.65 barrel floating around...please let me know.
