Can anyone tell me how the loops on the "telegrapher" buckle were used? From what I've read, the communication wire was threaded through the loops, while the wire was being laid out. I'm curious how this was done. Does anyone have any photos of this?
As the war progressed, were these buckles actually used? Real examples seem extremely scarce, so I'm inclined to think that they were rarely used. Also, I've only seen Prussian examples. Did the other states have their own versions?
