It sure beats the three, four, twelve blade razors that just remove layers of your skin.

I split the difference between a straight razor and a safety razor:

You can adjust your "angle of attack", as it were, like with a regular straight razor, but without the constant stropping and honing required of a straight. Take a regular double-edge, snap it in half, and you're good to go.
