My Boy Jack..... very dramatic in places, kept to the period authenticity very well. Historical accuracy is 100%. Beafed up in places.. especially for the inside Buckingham Palace and information committee shots. Dramatised very well for Mrs and Mr Kipling in reference to the loss of son and their endeavour to search for evidence of his last action.
This is a film concerning a period icon and his endeavours to firstly enlist during the heady days of the start of WW1, then his trials and tribulations in overcoming his handicap of wearing glasses (during this period they were called : specticles ). Not many battle sceanes for this film is mainly concerned with Jack Kiplings struggles at home and during enlistment training.
The charactors who play his family have been very well cast, and their contributions help to make this a superb historical account... albeit dramatised.
All in all, a WW1 film worthy of pride in anyones collection.
